Urbex
Through my roots in graffiti, I became very accustomed to traveling into abandoned spaces to produce some of my work. In the process, I fell in love with many of the urban structures and the different colored rust, bricks, and concrete I discovered. I became what's called an "Urban Explorer." An urban explorer is someone who explores abandoned spaces to take photographs and study to old structures in cities around the world that aren't used any longer.
When placed into a class in design school to facilitate solutions. I discussed with my group how hard it is for many younger people to get started in urban exploring correctly and safely.
We chose to design an application to help these explorers with what it is they want to do. We asked ourselves, how might we relay pertinent site, general knowledge, and safety information to urban explorers around the globe to keep them safe and enjoy their time Urban Exploring.
Thus, the Urbex application was born. These are a few of the main screens I had key developmental decisions in designing with the team. The "Discover" page here is the key aspect to the whole application.
